Election time has come and gone.

The elections are finally over. I am so happy about this. The last bit of finality will be the Coleman and Franken race. I actually heard a radio personality say "Why is Norm Coleman trying to steal the election?" WTF how can he steal it, he won it, but still seems fishy how lead of over 1000 has dwindled to just under 400 in a couple of days.

Well lets see my guy didn't win. In all honesty it was an up hill battle from the start. I think the Republicans are going to have to do some serious soul searching. They have lost touch with the core beliefs of conservatism. I myself included. Might motivate me to become more politically active. The only positive thing I saw on the McCain/Palin ticket was Palin. I think she exhibited true conservative beliefs. I did think it was pretty funny how quickly she left the stage after the concession speech. Look like there may have been a bit of a wall put up between them. My opinion she was being held back.

As far as Barack Obama. I am proud of the fact a black man can be elected to the most powerful position in the world. I will admit I would have never voted for him. But it was due to his promises that are going to be very tough for him to fufill. I think will be his demise. I am frigthen by a quote of young woman saying "I don't have to worry about my mortgage, and I don't have to worry about putting gas in my car." I just wonder how much she thinks she gonna get. At best his redistribution would be $500. That ain't much. I also hope he is more of a centerist then he looks. His past political record does not look good for smallbusiness and markets have not responded well. Since he was elected two days after the Dow Jones has dropped 900+ points largest post election drop ever. The markets a generally a 6 to 9 month indicater to future economic changes.

He is all about change what exactly no one knows. But I hope it is enough to motivate this countryto become greater than ever. I wish him and our country luck.

The Young and Politics

I had an interesting evening. I was discussing politics with a 14 year old girl. It was interesting to get her perspective on the Presidential race. Me being a conservative, I was having issues with who she would vote for if she could vote. lol. But none the less this is a America and everyone is entitled to the opinion. (No matter how wrong it maybe. kidding). She was writing her paper on, Why she thought Barack Obama would win the election. She gave me pretty standard answers. Unfortunately not very substantial, but I also don't know how much she elaborated in her paper. I would have loved to help her with it. I think there are more underlying reasons why people would vote for him. So it got me thinking why would people vote for Obama:

He stands for change. (of what no one really knows)
He's black. (some people actually think it's trendy to vote for him)
He'll spread the wealth (even though it's gonna cost us all to pay for his programs)
He's gonna stick it to the rich (unfortunately the rich are the one's that provide a majority of jobs)
A vote for McCain is a vote for Bush. (Even though McCain and Bush have never seen eye to eye and McCain has gone against Bush in most instances.)
Reminds baby boomers of Kennedy. (although Kennedy would have been a right wing radical compared to Obama)
You'll get a tax cut. (if you make under 300k oops wait 250k umm no 200k no that's not good enough 120k that might do it. Under 30k and no tax burden you'll get all your money back and hen some of your neighbors)
Government health care (can you say rationing and they can't even keep Social Security solvent.)

Well happy voting. Even if your not voting for my guy and gal just remember to get out and vote. It is your God given right. Then you have full license to bitch if your guy doesn't win.
